Who's guiding

Home again, after going everywhere else first.

Seasoned world traveller and once digital nomad, I've now returned to my home base, Portugal. I can guide you and unlock the secrets of a full local experience. Let's go.

Eight specialties, forty years of lived experience, and a habit of writing everything twice — once for people, once for search engines.

The long way home

A life in eight moves.

1980–1998

Childhood — moved from the capital to the sunny coasts of the Algarve. Ocean Whisperer and tidal-exploration enthusiast, from the start.

1998–2002

Lisbon, Bairro Alto — the city's blend of tradition and modernity, right through Lisbon's World Fair in 1998.

2002–2007

London — Camden's iconic music scene, caught in its last years before it faded into memory.

2008–2012

Back to Lisbon, through the global financial crisis and London's own security fallout.

2012–2016

The Nordics — Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen — then the Baltics' hidden gems of culture and history: Tallinn, Riga.

2017–2018

Southeast Asia — Shanghai, Manila, Tokyo's neon-lit Shibuya, and the hidden gem that is the Sangenjaya triangle, Fukuoka.

2018–now

Home in Portugal — arrived just before the pandemic, weathered the storm, came out the other side with a renewed appreciation for it.

Eight specialties

What I actually know.

01

Ethical tourism

Portugal's history, culture, small towns and nature — explored while respecting local traditions and the environment.

02

Food tourism

Freshly caught seafood, the beloved black pig, and the "hidden items" that never make it onto a menu.

03

Ocean exploration

Diving in crystal-clear water, coasteering through sea caves and tide pools — for every skill level.

04

Nightlife

An amateur nightlife anthropologist, four continents deep — from gritty dive bars to high-energy dance clubs.

05

Urbex

Forgotten industrial sites, abandoned factories, ghost towns — where history and mystery collide.

06

Rural tourism

Rolling vineyards, ancient olive groves, rustic farmhouses, and the sleepy villages between them.

07

Adventure

Hiking and mountain biking through remote hills, paragliding over the Algarve's cliffs, no shortage of water.

08

Culture & monuments

Belém Tower, the Palace of Pena, the Monastery of Batalha — plus medieval towns like Évora and Silves.

A global perspective, and a deep understanding of Portugal — let's maximize your visit. Let's get started with a short questionnaire.
